UI Postgraduate Form Suitable individuals are asked to apply for admission to the University of Ibadan (UI) postgraduate studies for the academic year 2021/2022.

General Regulations for Admission to Higher Degree Programs at the University of Ibadan

(a) Graduates of the University of Ibadan or other universities/institutions recognized by the Senate are typically eligible for admission to further degree programs. The Postgraduate School will make admission decisions based on the recommendations of the appropriate Faculty Postgraduate Committee.

(b) Candidates with no prior higher degrees in the appropriate discipline may only be admitted to the Master’s Degree or the Professional Master’s Degree. | H

(c) Candidates having a recognized “Research Higher” degree in the relevant discipline may be admitted to M.Phil. or Ph.D. degree programs, depending on the Faculty Postgraduate Committee’s approval.

(d) When a solid recommendation for admission to the Ph.D. degree program cannot be provided for an otherwise qualified candidate with a higher degree. A Faculty may recommend that a candidate be admitted to the M.Phil/Ph.D. program on a provisional basis.

In the meantime, an assessment report is being prepared for the program. On the advice of the student’s department, such an assessment will be made by a panel established by the Faculty Postgraduate Committee and will take place no later than the end of the first semester of registration.

UI Postgraduate General Admission Requirements

(a) A first degree from the University of Ibadan or a degree/Higher National Diploma from another accredited institution in the relevant discipline is the minimum requirement for admission to all postgraduate Courses and Programs. Remedial courses, which may lead to extra periods of studentship, may be required where qualifications are not strictly in the area of admission.

In addition to individual Departmental requirements, applicants must meet the University of Ibadan’s ‘O’ Level first degree matriculation requirements, i.e. five ‘O’ level credit passes in ONE sitting, or six ‘O’ level credits in TWO sittings, including English Language and subject areas for ALL disciplines, Mathematics for ALL Science-based disciplines, Educational Management and Economics, and at least a pass in Mathematics for other Social Science Courses OR Holistic Management and Economics.

(b) Candidates for the degrees of M.Phil. and Ph.D. are admitted to the Master’s Degree Program first. Candidates with an excellent first degree and appropriate postgraduate degrees, on the other hand, may be considered for direct admission to the M. Phil. and Ph.D. programs.

Types of Admission to UI Postgraduate Programs

I. Full-Time Admission Only candidates who can demonstrate to the Postgraduate School that they are not employed or that their employers have allowed them to pursue full-time study will be considered for full-time admission. Candidates who are found to have made a fake declaration will be asked to leave the university.

(ii) Admission on a part-time basis
Candidates who are on the university’s academic faculty or who can convince the Postgraduate School that the facilities for their work as part-time students are acceptable may be allowed to part-time registration. iii) Admission as a Part-Time Student
Candidates who meet the minimal admission requirements for the higher degree program and are recommended by the Faculty Postgraduate Committee may be enrolled as occasional students, but they will not get a University of Ibadan degree. Candidates enrolled in higher degrees at other universities approved by the Senate are also eligible for this form of admission.

How to Fill Out the UI Postgraduate Admissions Application
 APPLICATION FORM:
Every year, the University receives requests for application forms for its higher degree programs. At https://pgcollege.ui.edu.ng/, you may learn how to receive Application Forms.

For academic programs, application forms cost N13,000, while professional programs cost N18,000. Applicants for the Master’s and Postgraduate Diploma degrees must pay an additional N3,000:00 for an English language competency test.

The English proficiency test for all master’s degree programs for the 2021/2022 session will be informed to each applicant via your registered email prior to the date.

APPLICATION FORM FILLING GUIDELINES

(a) All application forms must be submitted online. Applicants should take payment guidance from the portal to any bank. It’s worth noting that there are E-channels available.

(a) Incomplete information from an applicant may cause the application to be delayed or halted.

(c) A applicant is only allowed to apply to one department or program at a time.

(d) Applicants must upload their appropriate credentials and submit them electronically with their application.

e) Application Acknowledgement
Applicants will be notified of progress in the processing of their forms through email (at the email addresses indicated in the electronically filled Application form).

f) Recommendation letters
Three letters of recommendation from faculty members or individuals familiar with the student’s academic work are required by the University of Ibadan’s Postgraduate School. Please keep in mind that the referee forms are available online and can be filled out and submitted electronically.
