what is ijmb? all you need to know about ijmb and a full guide on how to register for the program

The Interim Common Services Agency (ICSA) established the Interim Joint Matriculation Board in 1976. (IJMB). The former governor of Nigeria’s Northern Region formed the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) to provide educational and social services to the region’s residents. In 1977, the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) held its first test for all applicants who had completed a post-secondary education program at current Basic/Preliminary institutions and had passed the Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE).
It had assumed the HSCE’s place. The Institute of Education at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Nigeria, is in charge of the IJMB Board’s administration. Members of the IJMB board include representatives from a variety of educational institutions, including the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The IJMB program is designed to be completed in a year. The IJMB program’s major purpose is to remove barriers that candidates confront while applying for admission to Nigerian universities through the Joint Admission Matriculation Board, or JAMB, which was formerly the sole way for students to enter the country. Previously, the exam was held in May of each year, with the results released three months later for admission processing.
In 2014, the IJMB program was rescheduled, with the IJMB exam taking place in February of that year. The IJMBEs were held every year in February, with the results announced three months later (May or June). This is done so that IJMB candidates can obtain a JAMB direct admission form and apply to any university of their choice. Candidates for the IJMB are short-listed for admission to their desired university when the admissions procedure begins in September or October. All IJMB candidates must choose any three A/level topics related to their chosen university program of study when filling out their Direct Entry Form.
Candidates who need to retake the O’ level test before the IJMBE or Admission period can do so.
Candidates who successfully finish the IJMB program and pass the IJMB test will be issued credentials that will allow them to get direct admission to any Nigerian institution at the 200 level (D.E).

Most candidates who have struggled to pass JAMB or post-UME have participated in the IJMB program in recent years, and a considerable percentage of them have passed and been admitted.
They can now enroll in 200-level classes, allowing them to catch up with their JAMB-admitted peers. It’s worth mentioning that the IJMB has a track record of directly admitting a substantial number of people to Nigerian colleges at the 200-level.
