Google Introduces New Sitemap format For Website Indexing in search engines by webemtech
The tech giant (GOOGLE LLC) has introduced a new sitemap format for indexing website content in search engines. Before now, there has been a widely known sitemap format for indexing website contents in search engines like: Google search, Yahoo, Bing, etc. But recently, Google the world leading search engine introduced a new sitemap format to enable website content indexed in search engines.

Though this new sitemap is still propagating round search engines. however, older websites that has adopted the old sitemap format are not being affected. and at the other hands, some new websites are still not being affected if the old sitemap are used.

However, some new website owners that has issues indexing their website contents are advised to use this new sitemap format IF the old sitemap format isn’t indexing their content on search engines.

- Older sitemap format for indexing website/blog contents: https://www.youdomainame.com/sitemap.xml
Note: https or http are all transfer protocols and are allowed. So you need not to panic if you don’t have SSL certificate installed yet. Though it is a good practice to have SSL certificate installed on your websites. Also, the extention: .com, .net, .org, etc. are also accepted
- Newly introduced sitemap format for indexing website/blog contents by Google: https://www.yourdomainame.com/sitemap_index.xml
Note: same application on the transfer protocol and extensions on the older sitemap format.
